Custom MCP development & management

Can AI agents
use your app yet?

Allow your users to get more done with their AI agents connected to the product they already use.

Experience includes

Former employers and clients of Cesar Romero, founder of R5.

The same product. A new way in.

Your product.
One request away.

Your users already know what they want to do. We build and manage the MCP server that lets their AI agents do it through your product.

Ordering

“Order my usual pizza.”

The agent finds the saved order in your app and prepares a new one.

Find order Review Confirm

Movie tickets

“Buy movie tickets for me and my kids after school on Thursday.”

Using the family details and location your user has shared, the agent knows to book three tickets for a 5pm showing of a PG movie at a theater within driving distance.

Find showtimes Pick a movie Book

Client billing

“Invoice Acme for last month’s work at our agreed rates.”

The agent finds the unbilled time entries in your product, applies Acme’s contracted rates, and drafts an itemized invoice.

What we do

We build the connection.
And keep it working.

Custom MCP server development and management, designed around your product—not a generic connector.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) gives AI applications a standard way to access tools and data. We build the server that connects those applications to your product, with access scoped to each user.

01 / Development

From your API to useful actions.

We translate your product’s capabilities into tools agents can use to complete real tasks.

  • Workflow discovery and API assessment
  • Tool and resource design around user tasks
  • Authentication and authorization tied to your access model
  • Input validation, error handling, and integration tests
  • Deployment, client configuration, and documentation

02 / Management

A connection that evolves with you.

Launch is the beginning. We manage the server as your product, users, and the MCP ecosystem change.

  • Deployment management and operational monitoring
  • Maintenance, dependency updates, and security updates
  • Compatibility updates for your API and agreed MCP clients
  • Troubleshooting and reliability improvements
  • New tools and capabilities as your users’ needs grow

We agree on deliverables, source-code ownership, hosting, management scope, and support terms before work starts. Internal MCP integrations can be scoped too.

How we work

A clear path from API
to agent-ready.

  1. Scope

Choose the user workflows, review your API, and define access and success criteria.

  2. Build

Implement the server, tools, and permission checks around your product.

  3. Validate

Test real tasks, failure cases, and compatibility with the clients you need.

  4. Deploy

Launch in the agreed environment with documentation and client setup instructions.

  5. Manage

Monitor, maintain, and extend the integration as your product evolves.

A few practical questions

Before we connect.

Does our product need an API?

An existing API is the best starting point. We review what it exposes and what your users need to do. If something is missing, we identify the API work needed before committing to the integration.

Which AI agents will it work with?

We target MCP-compatible clients and test the specific clients your users need. Transport, authentication, and tool support vary between clients, so we agree on a compatibility scope rather than promise every agent will work out of the box.

How do you handle permissions and actions?

We design authorization around your product’s access model, validate inputs, and expose only the agreed capabilities. For sensitive actions such as purchases or bookings, we design confirmation steps and enforce the required checks in the integration—not just in an agent’s instructions.

Where does the server run, and who manages it?

We agree on the hosting environment and operational responsibilities during scoping. R5 provides ongoing management within that agreement, including maintenance and compatibility work. Hosting costs, monitoring, support hours, and any service commitments are defined before launch.

What will it cost, and how long will it take?

That depends on your API, the workflows, authentication requirements, and management needs. Start with a free consultation. We’ll discuss the fit and next steps, then define a scope and proposal before development begins.
